The wine is hand harvested from mid-September to mid-October. To decide the right moment of the harvest, Stefano Mantellini, the owner of the company, comes and tastes the wines of the vineyard. Campo del Monte cultivates several different clones of Sangiovese and all of them are harvested and vinified separately, to preserve the specific characteristics of each.
This is an impressive wine with strong tannins, which is still round and ready to drink. The color is intensely ruby red with garnet reflexes, and has a complex bouquet of red fruits with a nice freshness and lengthy finish.
